Otro año más, los Emmy han galardonado a los mejores de la última temporada televisiva, entre los que hay que destacar a Game of Thrones, como ganadora más destacada, llevándose 12 estatuillas, superando el récord que dejó The West Wing en el año 2000 con 9. Lo cierto es que no deja de sorprender, puesto que ha sido la temporada más controvertida de todas, debido a las numerosas críticas tanto en el aspecto argumental, con tramas más que cuestionables (ejem Dorne) o con algunos momentos muy duros mostrados en pantalla; y pese a todo, ha sido esta la temporada que más premios se ha llevado.
